strongly believe that everyone goes through two kinds of careers in their life. One is the professional career and the second is the spiritual Carrillo. You are supposed to grow spiritually and by spiritual growth. I don't mean understanding God better understanding the nature of the universe better. I purely mean self awareness understanding yourself better.
0:23
Going with in understanding your own traumas understanding the way your own Body Works understanding the way your own emotions work SRI SRI Ravi Shankar is one of the pioneers of the modern-day spiritual movement that we've witnessed in India. His story is Fascinating People say that as a three-year-old. He was someone who's able to recite verses of the bhagavad-gita the some Souls that people believe are reincarnated some great souls and a lot of
0:53
People believe that about SRI SRI Ravi Shankar, but speaking from a modern-day non-spiritual context. This man is someone who's worked a lot towards World Peace. He's had a role to play in the peace movements all over the world including the naxalites in the northeastern states of India as well as the Colombian militants. He's actually had a role in going visiting them helping them transform through his cause called The Art of Living The Art of Living costs by
1:23
The Art of Living Foundation is spiritual Foundation has transformed lives all over the world it all began with this man and his fantastic Journey. So in this conversation, we spoke about everything from the covid-19 situation the spiritual aspect of it the future of the world to self transformation to his own story. And of course if it's there and we show we've got to talk about some age old man problems. We brought up celibacy and the nofap
1:53
Movement in this podcast as well this episode of The Runway shows an extremely easy. Listen gurudev SRI, SRI Ravi Shankar is one of the easiest but one of the greatest souls to have a conversation with a deep but easygoing conversation coming your way on the Run we'd show
2:19
Go to they have pronounced. Welcome to the ranveer show. How are you, sir?
2:23
Very good. How are you?
2:26
I am doing good. It's genuinely an honor having you on the show. So you are one of my earliest influences when it came to embracing the idea of spirituality in your life. So it's amazing talking to
2:39
you.
2:41
Lovely and you're doing such good work, you are spreading through social media and influencing through social media lots and lots of youths I heard yeah,
2:53
thank you. So that means a lot. We're just trying to get people to work harder at the same time work on the inner selves
3:00
and smarter to
3:03
yes. Definitely. I think I think that's an outcome of working hard and listening to the right kind of
3:09
Physicians, honestly
3:12
Yep, so so I really want to dive straight in I have some in a friendly way heavy questions. So my first question to you, sir is what is your earliest memory? Because I feel that people born with a spiritual purpose in life. Some of the early memories are very crucial in forming the character for the rest of their life. And we see a lot of people following your word following your actions.
3:41
So where did it all begin for you? Like from this lifetime of yours? What is your absolute earliest memory that affected your character or something?
3:52
Belle
3:55
I'm still the way what I was before and I'm like that now also from my very engaged in a spirituality was like a fish to water for me. There's nothing new about it. And and in my young days I spent the time with all the elderly people. And now as I am getting older and spending with young people, that's all they do is
4:20
so what is the difference between the young people of today and the young people of those?
4:25
games
4:29
young people of today are more mature you they get satisfied by all the all the things that's going around them much earlier than people few generation back, you know few generation back. There were personal ambition for people spirituality came much later. Now spirituality has actually is coming to young people.
4:59
Much earlier is earlier age. Yeah.
5:02
Why is that happening though? So like why do you what is the requirement of these times?
5:09
I think the train is running very fast. No those days the train was going slow and now you have bullet trains. So it runs very fast the same human beings also that they
5:24
They are able to mature much earlier in age, you know, they're seeking for something higher in young age itself. Yeah,
5:36
so like the planet we live on and this life that everyone experiences. I honestly feel is an outcome of the people who inhabit the planet. So if this generation is getting spirituality so early in the life so many young people are embracing it earlier than their life. Do you think
5:54
You're heading into a better time for the planet or you know, how there's a lot of negative people out there who think that we're heading into dark times. You
6:01
know, what do you think this lie? Obviously, we are heading towards a better time young people are becoming more environmentally conscious young people are more service oriented. They are less selfish. They're less consumer is in nature, you know, even in the last 10 years 15 years you see a tremendous change, you know of
6:24
People want to do something for bigger cause you know, they are seen all those who have with wealth and fame all the thing and they see their lives are not so happy. So there is a natural speaking of happiness in people. Right? Right, and it's a good sign. I I tell you, you know, only intelligent people seek spirituality.
6:51
Youngsters are becoming more intelligent. So they are there seeking is higher. Yeah.
6:57
Hmm. Why do you think atheism exists as a concept, you know rejecting this idea of a higher power or God or the universe where too many people think too kind of outward they don't honestly, they don't value anything other than themselves, whereas this idea come from. Why does it exist in the first place?
7:16
You know, it was a result of Western Civilization when the church has controlled people's lives.
7:28
I'm the government. There was a rebellion against the organized religions in the west especially in Russia.
7:38
And then that the Soviet Union prospered when it became a huge country.
7:45
With atheism as its Central core.
7:51
India definitely got influenced by that India was closer to USSR the Soviet Union and be started appreciating we were amazed looking at us and the way they have progressed and they said religion is a mafia and we nodded because we thought our power that is because of our religion not do not everybody but most people
8:21
Generation educated lat thought maybe this is the way of life, but when USSR disintegrated when the swimming pools which were once upon a time is church became church again, the whole concept of atheism was out of the window even in China.
8:47
Then we started waking up to this reality. Yeah,
8:53
so because you have been responsible for converting so many people's mindsets transforming people's mindsets. How do you transform like the most intensely negative mindset into that journey of positivity. What is that first step?
9:10
They should just come in touch with someone who is positive even any one of our teacher when the sit with them I said don't worry about you whether you are atheist believer doesn't matter you you can be an atheist also and can be a good person. You don't have to force believing in yourself TC some in you okay, if you can continue to be a non believer in God or anything.
9:39
But you cannot say I don't believe in human values. You can't say I don't believe in decency in happiness in peace.
9:50
you know, yes and the values that uphold Humanity any person and so if you are
9:59
Honoring yourself if you accept these human principles.
10:07
That is good enough and for that you take care of yourself. Take care of your mind. Take care of your body your breath your emotions know something about yourself in our Workshop sort of lean Workshop. We don't talk about God we talk about human existence. We have seven layers to our human existence body breath mind intellect memory ego and yourself.
10:35
So knowing a little bit of yourself, then you you know, you get onto a different platform or together in your life.
10:45
Beautiful. So
10:46
I have to ask you the burning question in many people's hearts, which is so what is happening around us? Because I'm sure you in in your lifetime in this lifetime of yours. You may not have seen a situation like this. Why is this happening? So what world are we heading into? I would just like to know whatever you're thinking about this whole situation the covid-19 coronavirus situation. I
11:10
know we covid-19 situation is a very peculiar situation.
11:15
No, but there is some good thing also happening because of this situation. It's not all 100% ban. The good thing is the nature is rejuvenating itself. Now, we know we can lock ourselves down for some time.
11:34
Which bank I never even dreamt or thought we could do it, you know, in fact I recommended to world leaders that we should have a planned lockdown every year for one week.
11:49
Hmm
11:50
and I loo nature to rejuvenate to see Mumbai you have Dolphins coming into the store. I'm sure you all would have been thrilled by listening to that and there are peacocks on the street and weathers have change the angle or weather has never been so good. So since last 50 years, I know when we were kids we had such a beautiful weather here. We never needed an air conditioned or even a fan.
12:18
So any time throughout the not today that type of weather has returned.
12:25
You could see Himalayas.
12:28
Very clearly from many cities of you know, Punjab and Jammu and Jammu and Kashmir water got itself in of the reverse or have become better Ganges and yamuna have much pure water. Now look at look at the way the weather and then tri-d are we you see in Delhi? There are chitti sparrows in the city these all the signs of nature.
12:58
Back to herself. This is very good because such a pure quality of here. Now number one second is people
13:08
always complain every way in the world. I don't get time. I don't get time now nature gave you lot of time. Okay, you have lot of times it and do all those which you have been you have been postponing and not wanting to do third thing is you got time to spend with your intimate family close family. Yes, sir. So there's more bonding. There is more, you know,
13:38
That sort of thing. I think one good thing is see. We we are living in the age of Technology. We have Internet we have cell phones. We we still are connected though. There is locked on we are connected with the whole world suppose the same thing has happened some 20 years by just imagine what would have been the situation of course. This has hard-hitting.
14:08
Impact on daily wage workers and people small-time business people. Yes.
14:17
Many businesses have been really disrupted now.
14:24
But this is nothing short of a World War.
14:28
After World War, you know during World War II World War everything goes to flag gets flattened. You have to rebuild it. Now. We have to come up with this new spirit of rebuilding the economy.
14:43
No, he's not the time for competition. But for cooperation cooperate help each other come together and build rebuild the economy. This is the challenge we have and soon I am sure this fear of covid will go away. It will be there for some time another six months to one year people will still have fear once.
15:09
A medicine is being found for it. It's like common cold, you know, then people won't worry about it.
15:17
So
15:18
what kind of world are we heading into? Are you optimistic about it? Are you positive about the world we are heading into or are you somewhere little bit nervous in terms of? Oh my God, maybe some men might fail that test
15:28
again. No, I'm very realistic about it. I see I think things are going I'm going to be better and you know,
15:40
the world will think differently now
15:44
in what way can you give examples of how you
15:47
think? Yeah. See this covid this virus Which is less than 2 grams little over one gram could bring the entire world to stand still.
16:02
People have to wake up and see what is that we have done.
16:08
Hmm. Where are we heading? What is the priority? You know any one thing that a person does somewhere in China can affect the entire Globe then we cannot ignore.
16:26
These these things that how how strong we are all connected. So we had to take care of herself and see no untoward experiments like this can happen anywhere in the world if it is a natural phenomenon, it is different. But if it is a man-made phenomenon the Ethics Committee of the United Nations will wake up and put their foot and say we cannot do such things.
16:55
A hundred percent so so I've been someone who ate meat most of his life and I enjoyed meat while I ate and maybe since I went deeper into my spirituality for the last three to four years. I've gone completely vegetarian have seen the difference it made to my body my mind my spiritual journey. Do you think the world is heading more in that direction and possibly covid-19 is a kind of signal from the University Ella's. Hey quit eating meat
17:21
know even before covid-19 the world has
17:25
turn to more vegan or vegetarian food all over.
17:30
Yes in order and weed when I was traveling 40 years back in this in the 70s and 80s were hardly there would be any vegetarian stuff anyway.
17:43
Hardly, you have to carry everything with you. Of course, you get present tables fruits were all there. But vegetarianism was not the norm of the society people who raise their eyebrows. But today that's not the case everywhere people are taking to vegetarianism because they're found it much much more useful to the body.
18:11
Our the makeup of our body is such that it is more suitable for vegetarian.
18:18
Hundred percent sure, but how do you convince someone without having them experiencing it because I feel if someone experiences it for a while then they understand what you speak sir. But how do you convince someone
18:29
to say because I have been waiting all my life. If I say it will it will be so it will be seen as a Prejudice but you can say when people like you say then they will you know, they can relate it to much more you should talk about.
18:48
What it
18:49
more?
18:50
Yes, I am going to take that as one of my homework pieces from you. But like what I will suggest is, you know, when you eat a mint chewing gum how it makes your mouth feel cool. I feel vegetarian food. Does that for your entire body and your mind? It just cools down your body and cools down your mind. Therefore you are able to think with a lot more sharpness and Clarity and that's what you pretty much need for a happy life. I feel
19:13
you know, if people argue well vegetarian gospels kirkuk and I am good to be need.
19:20
Protein so I have my body builders. So I had to eat meat and all that just tell them elephants are there and horses elephants Bulls. They are all vegetarian. You know, we have two cute elephants here in the ashram.
19:40
You should see their strength. They are they are so cute and they are always there vegetarian.
19:49
And they they can give this message to people that look we are all vegetarian and we are much stronger than you.
19:59
I hope that people catch that message the way it should be caught. So but again, it's one of those things that you'll only truly understand after you put your body through it. And so speaking about the spiritual journey in general. I have one question for you, which is that, you know, I am sure that the way you face Prejudice about you talking about vegetarianism. There's a lot of prejudices you have to face as well. Just generally, you know people
20:28
Some people might call you a God man, or you know, they'll use some negative terms like that and put you in boxes. So what is your message to those people? That's what I want to ask you because I think if you've practiced yoga, if you practice spirituality, I completely understand the thought and the place that you come from sir, but there's a lot of people who completely shut to that who are probably watching this podcast till this point. So what is your message to them?
20:54
You know when someone is shut there is no point in talking to them.
21:00
People who criticize you without knowing you are only showing that they have no value for what they're saying. Hmm. So if they know you and they say something that has some value is such peaceful, you know, I don't even go to say anything to them. I just smile. You know, I have I am used to this sort of prejudice. I've seen that room last 40 years, but then, you know, they cannot hold onto it for too long.
21:29
Yes, I see. I'm talking to 40 years back when we started or Art of Living even yoga means in the Western countries. They used to think it is something not for common mainstream people. They thought yoga means someone with bosma ashes all over the body standing on one leg somewhere in allahabad. This first idea people used to have
21:59
you know, yes. Oh, so then we call Art of Living when people became little curious. What is this? Let us see and when they started 10 minutes, we don't do much yoga 10-15 minutes of yoga and little breathing little meditation knowledge about life, you know, many people's mind opened up.
22:19
So today Millions practice two billion people are practicing yoga around the world.
22:27
That's beautiful. So.
22:31
When the world is taking to spirituality slowly, you know in India also people who are resisting. It will also follow
22:40
some of the big movies that they go to an English movies like Matrix and Inception all these were based on yoga vasishta a scripture. Okay, so, you know people even those who do not like any spirituality they enjoy these movies. So there are ways that spirituality enters into somebody's life if they don't want to enter straight then turn somewhere around about
23:10
Through this movie's most of the movies in that are made in California in best of America. They have highly spiritual dialogues. They are spiritual because you will see people there. It's it's a common thing meditation is the most common thing now universities around the world are have adopted meditation is part of
23:40
them, you know for goes for credit or Art of Living is for credit in 58 universities in America, so
23:54
Sometime or other people will catch up because you so this has been the history in the world. You know, when somebody is alive people don't recognize them. They scroll down at them. They make all comments when they are gone, then they start appreciating their life this this happens in the world. And so there are all type of people some with lot of
24:24
Judy's others are overcoming the protease see in this country before our prime minister Narendra Modi started going visiting Temple and very proudly saying that it's okay to go to Temple. There was a taboo in people even in politicians.
24:44
So a few people when they lead when they break these barriers that the mind has falsely created in the name of modernism.
24:55
Mmm,
24:57
then a new world opens up in front of us.
25:01
That's what happens country Judy's vanishes. Yeah.
25:08
So, you know all these different spiritual paths everyone knows it eventually leads to that same goal of complete peace complete surrender. So keeping that in mind sir. I'm going to ask you another very hot questions. Well, one of the most respected spiritual people in the country someone else who's extremely respected from a spiritual perspective is sadhguru Jaggi. I've also had the honor of interviewing him. So so have you ever interacted with him? What is your take?
25:38
On his work. How do y'all view each other?
25:41
No matter with him a couple of times. I met having known him see in India. There are many schools of thought many many different schools of thought.
25:53
And doesn't matter what school but the main aim is to bring.
25:59
Inner peace and happiness bringing the transformation people's life, you know, if our mind is closed to to learning to furthering, you know, the very purpose of our life to spread happiness.
26:20
We need as many Avenues to open the top.
26:27
Got it. And so the closed my need to be open and it can happen through dialogue through talks through practices and just through general knowledge.
26:40
If people are open to general knowledge either not, you know having holding on to the prejudice.
26:52
Then there is a hundred percent.
26:55
So keeping spirituality again is the theme of the conversation. I feel when people enter this path of spirituality there is certain things that they gained along the way to peace and often for the Youth and this is something I have learned through my own career. You need to pull them into spirituality initially with the promise of gifts. You need to tell them that listen you will get these these things from
27:22
Spiritual practice so so can you elaborate a little bit on what those initial gifts are eventually it is complete peace and being happy with where you are being completely grounded. But on the way to that point, what are the tools that the world of spirituality gifts you what, you know, correct breathing patterns give to in order to benefit your life in order to benefit your career in order to benefit your relationships.
27:46
First of all, neither at home nor in school. Have you been taught?
27:52
what to do when you feel frustrated
27:56
When you feel when you are upset when you move when you are off your mood.
28:01
You know.
28:03
Nobody taught you how to handle your own negative emotions. You feel jealousy you feel heartbroken, you know you fall in love and you fall out of love and you don't know what to do you carry this anguish you can go and talk to your other friends and but it doesn't solve.
28:22
You know, especially when you are when you're broken up with your girlfriend or your boyfriend.
28:30
You are experiencing a hell.
28:35
You know you are going through a hell you're suffering a lot or you have anxiety X of exams your anxiety about interviews your anxiety about your career and this anxiety anxiousness, you know takes away the she from you.
28:56
You don't look joyful. You don't look happy and you go to an interview. So worried. Nobody is going to hire you right when you have competitions.
29:08
You're so nervous and life is full of competition and a here these breathing techniques this meditation the kriya helps you tremendously. It puts you back on track. It invokes the confidence in you.
29:26
It improves your intuitive ability. It gives you a right thought at the right time, you know. Yes, you depend on your own thoughts, right? Your actions are depending on your thought and if your head is in is all cluttered, you don't get the right thought at the right time. No Clarity the mind then you are suffering your whole life the years pass by you. Hold on to
29:56
The Grudge hold on to anger against anybody and that shows up in your behavior and when you vibrations are negative you attract similar vibrations around you loss of Attraction works here.
30:11
Because you are negative and you you repel people.
30:17
And you want to attract everybody want attention from people but you are doing just the opposite and sudarshan. Kriya.
30:26
Brings that positive energy in you you feel you know, all that repelling energy of you is gone.
30:37
You feel very settled you feel more calm you feel more attractive you feel happy from within and your your brain works very well. You know it brings you it gives you the right thought the right time.
30:54
Clarity in mind and Purity in heart or just the byproduct of this practices and this everybody wants and if you are heart is broken, these practices can fix it just in few days time. Yes, very thin for 5 days, you know, you will be normal self ready to go on another Journey.
31:17
Yeah hundred percent. So
31:19
that's something I experienced as well last year. I had a bit of a heartbreak in my own life just took a week off from work spent my time meditating and just you know, kind of put the learnings that I've had over the years into practice and that's something I feel a lot of young people don't know that your body and your mind are capable of a lot but you need to know how to play those
31:41
instruments. You know, we are so stuck in small things and we don't
31:47
Your lies we live in a world of seven billion people.
31:53
And you have a lot of choice and you have a lot of possibility in your life don't do so these things are what I would say are the first benefits of this and then, you know, you create an atmosphere of positivity.
32:14
And love around you feel that plow. Yes. Oh,
32:19
yes. Oh, so I feel somewhere spirituality is like a sharpener and for the pencil of your life. So if your life and your existence of pencil spirituality can sharpen that pencil and make it more aesthetic more beautiful more useful keeping that in mind. So someone like you who has been who has embraced spirituality since so early in life.
32:44
At this stage of your life. Do you still have to practice any kind of meditations any kind of spiritual practices? And if you do my question to you is what happens to you in your meditations, like what do you do today?
32:57
Then I don't need to do anything,
33:01
but I
33:01
still do anybody I still do it because I can't tell anybody to do something which I don't do myself, but I don't have any need to do anything.
33:14
NG yeah, okay.
33:16
But so today if you sit on a meditation what goes on in your mind at the end of the meditations because honestly, I am at that stage where I'm just beginning to sharpen the pencil. So the end of my meditation is always a bit of prayer a bit of you know, I ask for blessings from God from the universe. What is it for you at the end of your meditations?
33:38
I bless everybody.
33:41
I bless the whole world. Okay, I don't ask anything for myself. No, I'm here for everybody. I am my life is for everybody. So I just bless everybody wish good for everyone.
33:57
Beautiful. So what is your opinion on the law of attraction or magnetism or manifestation
34:05
when you don't crave for it, it is yours, but if you are writing for runs away.
34:13
So what should be the mindset of someone who has strong missions in life. I want to do this. I want to do that and I'm not supposed to
34:20
visualize good good hold on to it hold onto your vision. You can have dreams have one dream for yourself one dream for the nation. I would say have two dreams.
34:34
One your personal dream wanting for yourself and have one dream for everybody for the nation where you want the world to move. If not Nation take the whole world. Yeah and words towards it.
34:48
You may face many failures, but never mind them.
34:54
Take every failure as a stepping stone.
34:58
Hmm But don't leave your dream. Hold on to it.
35:03
You know, so if the bigger the dream is more obstacles might rise in your path.
35:11
Mmm, but we should be prepared for it should be prepared for failure. So you should be prepared for imperfections if you are not accommodating imperfection in your life.
35:25
If you have too much holding on to Perfection, you will become irritable.
35:32
And when you are when you become irritable, your success will be a far-fetched reality. So to have that control on yourself. I would say leave some room for imperfections that will increase your patients. Number one got it. Second thing is have an open mind.
35:55
Drop all Prejudice. Keep your mind open new ideas may come at any time to take you towards your goal. So be open to new ideas second thing third.
36:09
working team work team
36:12
honor the team
36:15
and honor the people who help you to move in your towards your goal.
36:22
This is important. You know, when we respect and Order people you will get that many times for many times in return to you.
36:33
Because if you have some big thing to achieve you need the help of many people and so you need to have that humility.
36:41
1/4 is have this confidence know that there will be obstacles and know you will be able to overcome them.
36:50
I think this Portage should be enough.
36:53
It's these four things together stronger than just sitting in one place and visualizing about where you want to be. Am I
36:59
right?
37:01
Visualizing you can do with Z. Once you have a dream. I would call it a dream some people call it visualizing that is okay. But this again and again putting this affirmation may not be as helpful as it is been thought to decades back.
37:23
In America, there was a trend to say okay and tell yourself. I love myself. I love myself. I love myself. So that yourself love will grow, you know, but I have seen party personally many people who went onto this path of visualizing and giving affirmation to themself.
37:47
They have gone really the other way around contrary to that. See you are in Mumbai. You're in Mumbai, right? Yes. Oh, yeah. No. Do you have to remind yourself every day? I am in Mumbai. I am in Mumbai.
38:02
No, once you know, that's it, you know it is there if you keep repeating to yourself, I am in Mumbai, I mean Mumbai every day. That means you have a doubt whether you are not in you have a doubt that you are not in a not in Mumbai, right? Yes, it only somewhere on the other side increases the doubt in you too. Yes, sir. Honorable, sir, real way of visualizations our ancient people here in India said they said
38:32
Take a sankalp over and drop it.
38:36
See which means take a circle ponds have an intention and then offer it to the universe.
38:44
Don't hold onto the sea you think in your mind. Okay, I want to go to nasik.
38:53
So what do you do with that one? Thought you take your car and you drive you don't repeat the whole way through nasik. I'm going to nasik. I want to go to NASA.
39:05
You will understand mental hospital. So you have an intention.
39:12
And then put attention and manifestation will happen God. It's
39:17
you focus much more on the actions than the
39:20
thought. Yeah, then you don't need to repeat yourself put this thought in to yourself again and again and again and in too many times.
39:29
Yes, so a hundred percent
39:32
so I have to ask you because there is this whole Revolution that's going on with the Youth of India today. Especially online. People are quitting Concepts like pornography completely people are embracing Concepts like celibacy. There is something called the nofap movement, which is again, basically brahmacharya and that's coming back to the Youth of cities. So, so can you explain the role of celibacy and spiritual growth as well as mental growth? Like what does it do for?
39:59
human beings mind
40:04
Now
40:05
see celibacy I don't think is a practice. It is something that happens to you. When you have total contentment. When you have lot of energy when you get that energy of bliss of samadhi whenever you had a taste of some of these celebrity happens to you. Naturally, you don't have to force on yourself. Yes moderation and celibacy has its own.
40:34
Benefits it is its own charm it is it is own energy level definitely has so I'm hearing from you for the first time that there is such a fad in the youth. I think this is a cycle, you know in the world sometimes when people go through this and then different Tendencies come up and they go
40:59
Even for example sex for people they don't do it all the time. I don't think anybody does it all the time. They have seasons they have, you know times that they feel the arch in the body now.
41:15
Unfortunately, we think sex is bad sex is should not be taken as a bad or a scene in this country. It was not seen as a sin. It's a western thought we adopted in this country for several centuries now at the same time brahmacharya is considered to be a breath involved which is very good. And which is the path of yoga.
41:44
This is very important and makes a lot of sense.
41:49
Being that this is the same energy which gets transformed into love. It's one energy in the body that that is either sex energy or it converts itself into love compassion anger. Also people who suppress sex. Sometimes they become very angry.
42:12
Hmm the same energy gets an outlet in anger. But if the same energy is channeled through meditation as love and compassion. Then you see that you you are in Bliss whole time. You don't have to make an act to experience bliss bliss this day with you with just meditation.
42:39
So I feel that celibacy combined with the spiritual practices like meditation like living a clean ethical life. That is the real key and it's not just abstaining from sex or abstaining from masturbation or something.
42:52
Yeah, you see you force the abstinence abstinence on you. Then it comes to you from some other distorted form inside of you become irritable angry and emotionally imbalance sometime.
43:08
Things you you are not so clear in your communication thinking all these sort of psychological issues will arise out of it. Yes, if you want to practice celibacy, you must do yoga and meditation then you will see it's not an issue at all. It has become a natural thing for you.
43:31
You are not forcing something on you.
43:35
Also, the parallel way of thinking could be that after the age of 25 if you get married to the right person and if you are engaging in sex with that person you are channelizing that Sexual Energy as love energy within a marriage. That would also be correct, right?
43:49
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
43:53
Definitely the water and say is you know where if you are using your energy into a creative Channel, you're putting it into just creativity or in service.
44:10
Or even in studies sex is not about the relation at all. Nobody is bothered about sex when they have exams.
44:19
Are those times are so busy. And when you have an important machine to accomplish in life that is not some issue that comes into your head. Similarly when you have when you are serving people are love and compassion in you sex is not an issue at all. But when you are focused only on yourself your pleasure, then it's a natural instinct. You should not assume as say this is bad or sin.
44:47
Get out of no it's a natural instinct honor it and then go beyond that's what I would say.
44:56
That's beautiful. So so I mean, you know, I feel that when you do meditation when you do good in the world, even if your work impacts the world all that causes spiritual growth, but is it correct to say that when you are in a very loving relationship or when you are in a very healthy marriage or when you have children and you are giving the children love do you grow spiritually through those processes as well? Like when you are
45:22
spreading love? Yes, certainly, certainly.
45:26
The other question I had for you service. How old are you today?
45:31
You should ask me. How young
45:34
how young are you today?
45:37
You guess. What do you think
45:42
in your heart? I think you're about to anyone. So I'm going to but I am asking you about the physical body. So and the reason of ask about the physical body is that I want to ask you as you age as you grow. A lot of people lose out on some of that physical energy or
46:00
Is some of the mental energy now, you're someone who's been practicing the sudarshan kriya or multiple, you know spiritual practices for so long. What has it done to your mind and your physical body today years of practice. What does it cause for you today?
46:17
No, you tell me how do I look
46:22
you look about
46:24
45 know I'm 64.
46:30
So that 20 year you get a 20-year demotion in terms of your physical aging.
46:37
Yeah, you know, I I just sleep I 3-4 hours and the rest of the time I keep myself busy. I've been traveling all the time. But now this is the longest time I am in one place for dome, but even in covid, you know, I am quite busy.
46:57
Your mind is more active. Your body is more active than the average person who shares the same physical
47:02
age. I don't feel I am I don't feel that at all. I am 64. No, I just become you know, I'm just like a mirror right? I just reflect whichever age group. I am with I am one with them. I tell you I do I never felt out of place are you know a foreigner in any country?
47:25
People ever thought I am a foreigner, you know anywhere in the world they feel I belong to them and I feel I belong to them.
47:34
And seam here also with age group any age group. We are interact with kids. They love me and then teenagers we have a whole bunch of teenagers and all of our programs. You will see it's all filled with young people more young people than elderly people and I'm quite comfortable with every age group. It all depends on your spirit know when you are because your spirit has no age you are self has no age.
48:04
So and if you can relate with any age and you are ageless.
48:14
So I'm going to ask you a slightly tough spiritual question, but this is something I've always wanted to ask
48:20
specifically tough questions. Yeah, go ahead.
48:23
Okay, I've followed you probably since I was 14 15 years old. That's when at first discovered you and I've constantly seen that you give out a lot of positivity. There's a lot of positivity in your voice with your intention with your mission and I would say the same thing for such guruji but also,
48:43
You know when people that question we spoke about how Society will bracket someone like you or yoga Guru as oh this person is a God man or this, you know, they put tags on to you that has happened because there are other people who call themselves gurus. Like I feel a true Guru is called a guru by people. You never yourself say that okay. I am a guru. I'm going to set you on you you guys be my issue the the students always choose a guru but in saying that there's a lot of people who say that I will sit here. I will be your Guru.
49:13
Now and they are the people who spoil the name of yoga who spoil the name of spirituality in the world and I also feel that that's happened because on the spiritual path, you are tested a lot the moment you start spiritually advancing you start advancing and yoga God or the universe throws tests at you. The people who get passed those tests are the ones like you likes our Guru ji who actually positive I is the environment but so what goes wrong with the other people because people who have a bad name have spiritual
49:43
London somewhere they have slipped off the path. So what happens there and that and then, you know, they end up with a bad reputation or they spoil the name of yoga. Why does that happen?
49:54
You know then we
49:57
this is there in almost every field. You know, there is a businessman in Mumbai who to sold Plastics in the name of diamonds.
50:07
Will you say the same thing for all Jewelers in the country? If you do it, it's not right, right. So say up what some such, you know, people do exist in all different fields. There are doctors. Who stole kidney.
50:29
And if you doubt every doctor to be a thief kidney Thief who will be suffering only you right so among hundreds of thousands of Saudis and gurus on this planet in our country.
50:47
Handful of people have gone into scams.
50:53
And this is out of their greed or sometimes what has happened?
50:59
The traditional seat traditional Pete of Guru and they've appointed someone into that seat. They were not ready for it and they were a big batch Kaneda he they were childish. They did not realize the responsibilities they made mistakes and for their mistakes.
51:22
You should have compassion for them.
51:25
Well sky has done this Mystic that mistake anybody all outside anyone else would have done it. Also, of course if people on a responsible sheet if the D mistake I usually say they should get twice the punishment as a common man would get
51:42
But these are very few in numbers.
51:46
See even Ravenna took a sannyasi dress saffron dress to kidnap Sita so yes, there has been a string of Rwanda from that time people Ridge in Agra Empire was finished by five sadhus people five of the Mohammad Sultan salvation. They dress themselves as Saudis. They came and asked the king to
52:15
Malone when they came they beheaded him
52:21
They said I want to speak to the king alone because we are sannyasis. So he went there and then and in one day.
52:30
the entire
52:33
vagina Grande kingdom was finished.
52:37
In one day without Wars in spite of having one lakh elephants and Department thousands of elephants and one like soldiers.
52:48
So this type of people are there in the world and so but luckily they are miniscule in now in number.
53:00
And so we had to take that also and move on.
53:05
Okay. So my absolute final question to you on this podcast and this is something I do extremely selfishly. So I'm going to be selfish once again here. So what advice do you have for me? I believe that you have an idea of what I do. So spiritually speaking or I'm all I'm talking to you as a former for your Guru in my life. What would you tell me?
53:30
Stage keep up your smile. You have a good smile. Yeah good presence positivity in you keep up that positivity meditate twice a day. Don't miss your meditation and continue doing good work and more good work is going to happen through you in the future. And so we prepared for that.
53:55
Is it wrong for me to have big material goals as well?
53:59
No you can have I've already mentioned your bigger work is going to happen through you. You'll be ready for it. Yeah,
54:09
thank you. Go to the thank you this meant a lot. So just talking to you was a huge moment in my whole life and career genuinely really appreciated. So and I hope that through the medium we have created your voice is able to reach out to even more people than it already has. Thank you.
54:25
